Cosmetic Dentistry In Shimla

Cosmetic dentistry
has been around for many years. The idea of improving the appearance of the teeth by performing corrective procedures is not a new one but it is a field of dentistry that has undergone a radical change in the last fifteen years. Advancements in dental technology have seen a vast improvement in the quality and accuracy of treatment available. It has also significantly reduced treatment time and comfort levels for patients. Cosmetic dentists are now able to produce stunning results even when faced with the most difficult of dental problems.

One of the most common dental procedures is teeth whitening. This is when teeth are stained using special gels to regain the white appearance of enamel lost to discolouration. The treatment is simple, effective and most of all affordable. Teeth become discoloured for various reasons but most commonly it happens naturally as a result of age. Therefore, returning your teeth to a more healthy white colour can improve the appearance of teeth making the patient look much younger.

Another popular cosmetic dentistry treatment is the application of tooth veneers. Veneers can be used for a variety of reasons. They include covering repair work carried out on teeth and restoring the appearance of badly worn or discoloured teeth. The veneer itself is a thin tooth-shaped piece of porcelain that is cemented over the top of an existing tooth to restore its appearance. New technology has greatly reduced the time and effort needed to manufacture veneers. In fact some veneers can be designed, manufactured and fitted in only one afternoon. This means that patients can transform the appearance of their teeth in just one day. Similar computer-aided technology is used in the manufacture of dental crowns, which are like thicker veneers used to cover dental repair work.

There are many other cosmetic dentistry procedures that can be carried out by our dentists. Gum and teeth contouring and shaping can be carried out using resin bonding and dental lasers. These can be used in tandem to create more evenly sized and aesthetically pleasing teeth with the minimum amount of discomfort. Dental bonding can also be used as an affordable way of reshaping chipped or cracked teeth.

There are an almost endless number of ways cosmetic dentistry can improve the appearance of teeth. Make an appointment with a Goma Dental to find out more.

Beautiful Smiles Are Noticed First

Teeth and a Beautiful Smile are among the first things noticed by a stranger, much of the time. However, it depends on whether women or men are being observed. The face and head, along with the body, are perceived differently by men and women. This is according to a recent study by the Dental Researchers . Therefore, this is very recent information about how a smile is perceived by people.

WOMEN have their eyes noticed first by men according to the survey. The Smile and Teeth were the second thing about women that was noticed by men. Those things noticed next by men about women were the body, clothing, hair and other things combined. The percentages of what men noticed first about women according to the study are indicated below:

THINGS NOTICED FIRST ABOUT WOMEN

* EYES – 39%
* SMILE – 25%
* BODY – 14%
* CLOTHING – 12%
* HAIR – 3%
* OTHER – 7%

MEN have their Teeth and Smile noticed first by women according to the survey. Eyes were the second thing about men that was noticed by women. These first two things were followed in order by the clothing, hair and body (these two were tied) and followed by other things combined. The percentages of what women noticed first about men in the survey are indicated below:

THINGS NOTICED FIRST ABOUT MEN

* SMILE – 40%
* EYES – 35%
* CLOTHING – 11%
* BODY – 4%
* HAIR – 4%
* OTHER – 7%

It was not surprising that a person’s teeth and smile ranked so high in the survey with both women and men. It is certainly one of the first things that people see. I think most people quickly notice a beautiful or handsome smile and also they notice a very poor smile. A poor smile is greatly accented if there are missing, crooked or discolored teeth. On the other hand, if you have an unsatisfactory smile, you should visit your Cosmetic Dentist ,for many modern dental techniques such as porcelain veneers and crowns can be used to create a smile very attractive. At Goma Dental in Shimla, we are dedicated to giving people beautiful and handsome smiles that are durable as well as attractive. Smile Designing For Bright New Smile

Smile design is a cosmetic philosophy encompassing a ‘Whole Smile’ approach to improving your appearance. Originally developed in the States, the Cosmetic Dentist works in partnership with the Patient and the Master-Ceramist.

At the first Smile Design appointment a number of important factors about you and your smile are gathered together including

* your wishes and expectations
* models of your teeth
* photographs
* x-rays

This information is analysed between the ceramist at the lab and your cosmetic dentist . The ceramist will then produce an accurate wax mock-up of how your teeth will look at the end of treatment.

At the 2nd appointment we will show you the model of how your teeth could look and effect any changes to the design that you might wish for. We also prepare the teeth at this appointment and fit temporary veneers matching the wax-designed teeth. The temporary teeth are worn for a week so that you can assess what you do and don’t like about your new smile.

When you return to the clinic with your temporary teeth in place in third appointment we consult with you on any changes that should be made to the temporaries, effect those changes to your satisfaction, choose the new colour and make an accurate record of your new smile for the ceramist to use as a guide when making your permanent ceramic smile design veneers.

In last appointment the complete new smile is delivered to the clinic and your cosmetic dentist will then bond the multiple veneers into place….new smile complete, time to dazzle your friends and family!

Dental Veneers : Brighten Your Smile

Dental veneers are custom-designed shells of tooth-like ceramic material that, when applied over the surface of a tooth, can cover worn tooth enamel, uneven tooth alignment or spacing and chips or cracks.Dental veneers fall into the category of cosmetic dentistry because they create a bright, white smile with beautifully aligned, shapely teeth. Even better, the translucent ceramic quality of today's veneers provides a more natural look than what's been available in the past.
Regardless of what causes unattractive teeth, dental veneers may solve most or even all of your cosmetic dental issues, including:

Worn enamel
Wear and tear
Uneven teeth

The two most common materials used in the manufacture of dental veneers are composite resin and porcelain veneers. Both porcelain veneers and composite veneers can eitherbe fabricated by a dental technician in a dental laboratory or can also be directly fabricated inside your mouth at the dental office.Dental veneers that are indirectly fabricated – fabricated in a dental laboratory – are bonded to the teeth with various types of resin cement. Of the two options, porcelain veneers are longer lasting and more expensive.For more severe cases of dullness, wear, discoloration, mild chipping, cracking, spacing, or uneven teeth, dental veneers may be recommended as a more appropriate solution.The placement of dental veneers requires the “shaping” or “prepping” of all teeth being fitted with the custom-designed shells. This process permanently alters the teeth that are treated and is therefore not recommended if your natural teeth are functionally and esthetically adequate.
If you have a severe case of dull or discolored teeth, you may have to opt for dental veneers. Veneers do have the added benefits of longevity and a proven ability to enhance the appearance of the mouth, smile, and possibly other areas of an aged face that would be better supported by properly shaped teeth. Although veneers require a much larger commitment than teeth whitening, the results are typically well worth it.In addition to being esthetically pleasing, dental veneers can also serve a functional purpose by protecting the surface of a damaged tooth. In some cases, veneers may replace the need for a dental crown, eliminating the need for more invasive tooth preparation.

Dental Jewels: Sparkle In Your Smile

If your teeth are very nice but you desire to improve your beauty even more, you can decorate your teeth with a jewel. Dental jewel is a special decoration, for example diamond or another stone, which can be attached to your teeth without consequences.It is necessary to consider your expectations and realize that the dental jewel will be a new, significant part of your look. Be prepared that people can stare at you, most of them will appreciate the beauty of your decorated smile, but some of them can consider it too extravagant.The dental jewel is attached to the tooth with a substance, which does not damage the enamel, it is therefore possible to remove it or change it without consequences. During the consultation with the doctor on Goma Dental Clinic, you will choose the jewel and the tooth, to which the jewel should be attached. Our doctor will check the condition of your tooth, if it is too damaged, he can recommend to attach the jewel to another tooth.
The application procedure:
The application of dental jewel is completely painless and does not require any anesthesia.After a perfect mouth hygiene, the jewel is stuck on the tooth with an adhesive substance, similar to the substance used to fix the retainer. This process does not damage the enamel, which is a big advantage.After the application you will probably need few hours to get used to the small jewel in the mouth. The doctor provides you with all instructions concerning the care of dental jewels. Most important is perfect mouth hygiene.The dental jewel can last a relatively long time, it is however limited by the stress put on the decorated tooth and dental care. If the jewel gets loose unexpectedly, it is possible to reattach it without consequences
